Introduction
This is going to be a very rough draft of a story I've been thinking about.
I just need a place to get it out of my head and put it down.
This world is not the one you know. Humans are not top of the food chain in this world. That position is held by the Shifters.
Across the world, much like the Humans, different races of Shifter live. Shifters look like humans but they can shift at will into a specific animal form.
They take on many different forms, for example, the Shifters of North America change into eagles, the Shifters of Africa change into cheetahs, the shifters of Australia change into crocodiles etc.
For centuries the Shifters have shared this world peacefully with the Humans, but now their very existence is in danger. The Shifters are practically immortal, they will not just die, but they can be killed. However they cannot reproduce and because of this their numbers are dwindling.
The Humans, though fragile and mortal, have one advantage over the shifters, they can reproduce.
A small group of Shifter scientists decide to take matters into their own hands. They plan to create a new race, a race of beings that are half Human and half Shifter.
This is to be the saviour of the Shifters, they plan to create a Shifter race that can reproduce.
The scientists use Human children for their experiments trying to introduce Shifter DNA to the human host. After years of failure the scientists finally succeed, they create a child who is half Human and half Shifter. They have created a Hybrid.
The parents of the Hybrid have discovered what happened to their abducted child and they have made it their mission to save him. The Humans cannot fight the Shifters so they have to embark on a dangerous journey to find The Creators.
There are two shifters who are completely immortal, they cannot die and they cannot be killed, in fact they cannot even be harmed. These are The Creators.
The Creators have existed since the start of time and are worshipped as Gods by Human and Shifter alike. The Creators have lived for millennia, pursuing different lifestyles through the ages. Eventually they have decided on a life of solitude appearing only now and again to help those who need it most.
The Creators are two children, or at least they look like two children, in their Shifter form however, they are Dragons.
